Make Room for Growth

I have been reflecting recently and this is partly based on imagery but it kinda felt alive to me so I thought I would write it down so I dont forget ! Sorry it is a long journal.

Inside each of us, there is a nucleus – a core of so much life – as we tune in to our nucleus of life we discover our core, our meaning, our life. At different times in our life this core maybe different. In days gone by communities would have facilitated ways for young people to learn and as we get older moving through stages of life.

Our cultures in this modern age have deliberately stripped us of rituals and community dictating a patriarchal authoritarian culture quite literally placing fear into us of being punished and isolated if we disobey.  Policing systems and legal systems have powers that limit authority to single bodies or entities with no opportunity for community or individual appeal.

The system is breaking down and thank goodness.  It has held so much power and by so few and they have failed.  They have failed the earth, the animals, the humans, themselves.

People are taking back the essense of life.  The skills needed to manage and connect.  There seems to me a movement in our understanding as things get worse we cannot be blindsided any longer and there is a call to share and listen so that decisions are made by the majority with culture, hope, the earth and society at the heart.

When this call begins to emerge within us and know we want to be part of this change then we may begin to seek out communities, courses, books, guides. All these are really helpful and make the journey easier, quicker perhaps and meaningful. But perhaps the most important thing we need at this time to pay attention to that core of life, to recongise though it smaller than would want it to be perhaps it will grow as we all connect and create change and movement. As we learn to listen to body, heart and mind.  To listen to each other and the world around us.

We have only to look at the earth and its systems to learn about life and we have only to look at ourselves to learn about what we need.

The unexpected conclusion, is that if we want to get out of this kind of tug of war with ourselves, with each other, and the world in its current state of wars, economic greed and cultural shock, we need to honour, trust and love ourselves a whole lot more than we’ve ever been educated do so. In trusting and learning to connect we are healing the world is such massive ways I believe and hope.

Circle is a fantastic way to connect with others in a relaxed setting where judgement, advise and response, confidentiality and trust become part of culture. This culture is so positive and strong that we learn deeply and become empowered to be ourselves. Our lives are impacted in such a way that healing ripples out into our relationships, communities and work lives. Unlike a cult where you take on others ideology and ways of being you can rest assured that the focus here is for you to discover for yourself and what suits you.

I write this because in my life experience I have dealt with many who have been drawn into ideologies and I am very cautious.

But I have found as I have studied and worked with Circle and learning facilitation practices, exploring different faiths and spiritualities I have stayed rooted in my faith but able to understand others faiths and appreciate the wisdom and depth that these ancient wisdoms bring to our human lives.

In Circle this is a space that allows space to breath, explore, discover and share from the heart. We allow each other the respect to unravel our information and find the words we need to explore our truths. We allow for changes of mind, realisations, epiphanies and silence.

For a new world to take shape there needs to more of us who are connected firstly to ourselves and then to each other in our families and communities. Taking time to practice these skills of sharing from the heart, bravely sharing our stories to begin making deeper sense of the information we have. As we listen to others there is an amazing resonance that happens as we listen actively and deeply.

I have found that Circle helps us to unravel and deepen our understanding of our own story and life. In doing this we find ourselves putting these skills into practice in our daily lives and as we do, as we open up to others and allow others to be open with us especially as we learn not to respond, to hold others as they share and not to judge. It is an incredible journey.

Do you feel you are embarking on this journey? If you are feeling that you would like to try and explore this please feel free to get in touch or join a Circle either in person or online, they are growing in number as more facilitators are being trained in different ways.
